As a leader in building telecommunications and utility networks Elexco is seeking an individual with a strong background in cost accounting, great attention to detail, and excellent business acumen. The Controller is responsible for the daily functions of the accounting team including accounting, audit, bonding, budget, insurance, payroll, tax, and treasury functions. The Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and works closely with CFO and President in managing the accounting and financial planning for Elexco, Inc. and Innovators Equipment.

Responsibilities of the Controller
- ·Responsible for the financial and accounting functions, system controls, and standards to ensure accurate and timely financial and statistical reporting
- Manage daily accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
- Demonstrate the highest level of ethics, prudence, and confidentiality in managing financial operations
- Drive the financial planning processes to develop strategic short term and long-term plans
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
- Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
- Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors
- Evaluate opportunities to improve financial practices and processes to create operational efficiency and maximize profitability
- Manages and maintains contract schedule and work in process
- Provide training to operations staff in key accounting functions to provide professional development opportunities and back up support
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in all facets of work by working with Leadership Team to evaluate and implement ideas
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions
- Understand and be able to audit information in all software tools
- Solve complex problems
- Ensure cost effective management of Company assets
- Maintain accurate, detailed financial records
- Manage department budget and analyze financial reports, to recognize favorable or unfavorable trends, to recommend actions, and implement recommendations
- Contribute positively to the development of the overall business plan and relate/translate this plan to departmental goals and standards
- Collaborate with President on all legal and professional services
- Serve as the administrator of all financial services including banking, bonding, business insurance, and benefit plans
Required Qualifications
- Five years of experience in finance and accounting management
- Two or more years of cost accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
- Demonstrated business acumen
- Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal legal requirements for financial operations
- Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, business management and/or equivalent experience and knowledge; an advanced degree preferred
- Proficient in business technology solutions, including SAGE 300 CRE, UKG, Microsoft 365
- Project management experience
- Skilled in advanced business math, budgeting practices and financial statements
- Experience managing vendor relationships and procurement
- Leadership and supervision of accounting staff
- Valid Driver License
Work Environment
Elexco is located in Seymour, Wisconsin. The position is based in the office with work hours Monday through Friday and occasional weekends and nights as needed.
